What is Medical Herbalism?
Herbal medicine is the oldest form of health care and still used by most of the population of the planet. Combined with nutrition, herbal medicine is a safe and effective way to treat a wide variety of health complaints ranging from eczema to high blood pressure. As a Medical Herbalist, Daniela Turley believes in combining the b
est of this ancient arts past with the most up to date modern knowledge available. Modern herbal medicine is a way of treating health issues, preventing health issues, and maximizing one’s health potential with botanical medicines in a way that is backed up by scientific research. The vast majority of the world’s population uses herbal medicine as their primary form of healthcare. The safety and effectiveness of these treatments is part of why they are so commonly used.
Medical Herbalism is different from traditional Western Medicine in many ways. Aside from using only natural remedies, Medical Herbalism focuses on treating the root (no pun intended!) cause of an ailment instead of masking symptoms with medication. This philosophy ties in perfectly with Dr. Rahav’s philosophy about they way medicine should be practiced. Herbs, along with dietary and lifestyle changes, can significantly improve one’s condition in approximately six weeks.

What will an initial appointment look like?
Before your appointment, you will fill out a series of medical history forms on the patient portal so that Daniela can read them before you meet. Daniela starts the appointment by asking you about your primary concerns/the reason for the visit. She will then conduct a series of electrodermal screening tests and explain the results to you. From there, she will form a treatment plan which will include both herbal remedies and a dietary plan.
