Rachel Strait
Family Nurse Practitioner
Rachel joins Rahav Wellness as a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She graduated with honors from Walden University School of Nursing. Rachel brings her extensive experience as a Functional medicine RN to our practice. She began her journey in the healing arts many years ago when she studied at The Reidman College for Natural Medicine and earned a certificate in Reflexology and Herbal medicine.
Rachel’s interest in nutrition and natural healing grew out of a desire to improve her own and her family’s health. Through extensive reading and research, she developed an interest in optimizing the body’s innate ability to achieve health and wellness. To deepen her understanding of the function of the human body, she decided to pursue a degree in nursing. She is fascinated by the complexity and intricacy of our biochemistry and how we can achieve health and well-being through supporting our innate ability to heal.
Rachel received her Bachelor of Nursing degree from Adelphi University and worked in a Functional medicine practice for over a decade, where she gained valuable experience with IV infusions, supplements, and other holistic treatments. She learned the value of an integrative approach using natural modalities to support healing. The foundation of a functional medicine approach is to get to the root cause of the problem to achieve true and lasting healing. Rachel feels strongly that this approach offers her patients the best chance of achieving this goal.
As a family NP, Rachel is trained to work with patients of all ages and health needs. She has worked with pediatrics, women’s health, and adults through old age in the primary care setting. She enjoys meeting patients of all walks of life and engages with them in a warm and caring manner. She takes the time to listen carefully to each patient to understand their unique circumstances and needs. As a practitioner, she is committed to never trivializing a patient’s concerns but rather taking the time to hear what the patient is sharing.
Recently Rachel has completed training in Autonomic Response Testing (ART) based on the teachings of Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt. ART is an advanced form of kinesiology that allows the body to share its story and prioritize its needs. She continues to learn and grow her practice, incorporating a variety of treatment modalities. She is committed to lifelong growth and self-improvement in every aspect of her life as she strives toward always giving her best effort to everything she does.
